Wulkuraka to Toogoolawah and Moore to Yarraman section of the BVRT has re opened after last weeks weather events
Notification has been received from theDepartment of Transport and Main Roads the following sections of the BVRT are closed until further notice.
• Diamantina Boulevard (Brassall) to Fernvale NOW OPEN
• Lowood to Coominya NOW OPEN
• Coominya to Esk NOW OPEN
Following the deluge from ex-TC Debbie and subsequent creek flooding impacting some sections of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, the Department has decided to temporarily close these sections of the Trail due to safety issues caused by heavy rain & subsequent creek flooding. Trail users should be cautious when accessing other sections of the trail, and are strongly advised to avoid using the trail during bad weather.
Until flooding across the trail has subsided, it is difficult to determine what damage has been caused.
The Trail Ranger will inspect these sections in the following days to determine whether it is safe to re-open, and what repairs may be required.
