Goulburn River HC Rail Trail (Vic) given the go ahead by councils
The Mitchell, Murrindindi and Mansfield Councils have now adopted the Concept Design and Business Plan for the Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail. This rail trail will be on the former railway from Tallarook to Mansfield (and Alexandra) in North East Victoria.

On Monday night 26th June Mitchell Shire Council agreed to support the establishment of an Advisory Committee to prepare a detailed implementation (management) plan and look at possible alternative routes. The Plan is to come back to Mitchell Shire Council before any grants are sought for the Rail Trail.
Murrindindi Council’s resolution was along the same lines.
The Mansfield Council resolved to begin construction of the trail on their section from Mansfield to Maindample.
