An impressive turnout of riders came together to ride the Hamilton – Coleraine Rail Trail. Riders traversed through magnificent redgum country and native flora and fauna, past the famous Wannon Falls then up and across the tablelands and down the hills into Coleraine Railway station for coffee and cake. Whilst the trail is a tad rough and grassy in places it provides an awesome nature and cycling experience.
Take a look at the video below.
The Hamilton – Coleraine Rail Reserve Committee were really pleased with the event and plans to make it an annual fixture. A big part was reengaging with our local community and supporting the uptake of cycling in the region. There was unanimous support for the further development of the trail. One comment on “Hamilton-Coleraine Rail Trail Velo Rally”
It looks like it was fantastic. I've looked on the maps at this trail for the last few years but didn't realise is was as complete as it seems. Hopefully next time I can find out about this sort of ride a few weeks in advance so I can get to it from Geelong.
