Construction Commences on Southern Flinders Rail Trail extension
Clearing of the trail has commenced at Booleroo Centre and design work for bridges, culverts and creek crossings is being finalised.
This 25km section of the Southern Flinders Rail Trail, from Booleroo Centre to Stone Hut, will see the trail extend from Wilmington to Stone Hut, a distance of 65km.
Over 70% of the total cost of the project is funded by State and Federal Government grants.
The trail has the potential to extend southward and connect to the existing Riesling Rail Trail and proposed Wool Rail Trail to create a 200km trail.
Construction work is expected to be completed by 30 June 2022.
